Social Science Print Comic Media with Contextual Approach and Its Effect on Literacy Ability of Left-handed Students

The learning process for left-handed students still uses printed media designed non-handed people. It causes to be less comfortable in learning. This study aims develop social studies comics students. research is Research and Development with Hannafin Peck model. Subjects included content, design, experts, 15 data this were collected using the method of tests, questionnaires, observation, unstructured interviews. Data analysis was performed quantitative descriptive techniques, qualitative research, inferential statistical (dependent t-test). assessment instructional experts obtained percentages 98.21%, 95.83%, 92.50% very good qualifications. Student trials, namely individual small group field each a percentage 92.50%, 91.67%, 91.17% effectiveness test results conducted (pre-test) an average score 78.9 (post-test) 84.3. hypothesis testing dependent t-test showed that value tcount (8.4371) greater than ttable (2.475) at N=15, significance level 5% (0.005). means H0 rejected H1 accepted, so based on contextual approach effectively improve literacy skills fourth-grade elementary school
